The Bushman 500 Gallon Emergency Water Storage Tank comes assembled with a 16" Vented Lid, two 3/4" Outlet Tank Fittings, a 3/4" Lead-Free Brass Water Hose Spigot, and a 3/4" Lead-Free Brass Ball Valve Assembly with a hose end. Bushman Emergency Water Storage Tanks are roto-molded from premium-grade, food-safe, UV-protected High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and made with FDA Blue Pigment. These 500 Gallon Emergency Water Tanks secure a family of 6 for 83 days, in case of emergency! The United States CDC recommends you store at least one gallon of drinking water per person, per day and that you store at minimum a 3-day supply. This minimum recommendation doesn't allot for hygiene. Therefore, most households feel the minimum recommendation is not a safe enough plan and choose to store more drinking water. Check out our 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 260, 500 Round (UT), 500 Slim or the entire collection of sizes here!

The Lead-Free Ball Valve Assembly and Lead-Free Water Hose Spigot ship inside the tank to eliminate the risk of shipping damage. Remove the fittings and wrap all threaded connections with Teflon Tape. When applying Teflon Tape, apply it against the grain of the threads. Only wrap the connection 2-3 revolutions. Too much Teflon tape can put unnecessary pressure on the tank fittings. It's not a bad idea to give the inside of your tank a quick rinse with your water hose prior to filling as plastic shavings could be in the bottom from the factory installed tank fittings.
